 Brillnat Thoughts

In my day job I work for a manufacturer of custom kitchen cabinets. The machines that cut and form the materials operate as accurately as mere thousanths of an inch.   Final dimensions and reports meant for human consumption usually require information in fractions of an inch.  These dimensions are usually in 64ths, 32nds, 16ths, 8ths, 4ths, and halves of an inch.  Dimensions are stored in the sql server database as decimal numbers that can be used for calculations.  I felt that a SQL user defined function (udf) would be helpful in getting the information required for the reports.  I set out to get that in place.

My wife decided we needed a small stone patio for our fountain and a chair or two.  She bought some concrete pavers that have an odd shape so they sort of look like stone. They look like the picture above.  It is an interesting shape.  I had used just three of them to place the fountain on.  I had also tried earlier to lay them out on the grass to see how to arrange them so that they fit with minimal gaps.  They are 2 inch thick and about 28” long so they are pretty heavy.  It was a problem to figure out how to arrange them.

My First try at using OWS and quickbuilder to create a simple two column table input and maintenance system in DNN.  I tried OWS when it first came out without much luck.  Recently however, I came across another project that seemed appropriate for a web-based tool, and OWS seemed like the best tool for the job.  So off I was to take another run at reconciliation in my love/hate relationship with r2i products.
